Soya kathi roll is a recipe which is loved by people of all age groups. Made with soya chunks and multigrain flour [ bajra/ nachni] , this recipe can be served with green chutney.


Method

  1. Heat 1 water in a pot,
  2.  Add soya chunks and salt, mix it well, bring it to a boil. Remove it from heat and drain them well.
  3. In a mixing bowl, add flour, 1 teaspoon salt, water and knead it into a smooth soft dough.
  4.  Rest the dough for 20 minutes Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan, add 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste and sauté for a minute then add onions and fry till translucent then, carrot, and capsicum  sauté for 5 - 7 minutes.
  5. Now, add soy sauce, red chili sauce, ketchup, tandoori masala, salt and mix it well.  
  6. Add the boiled soya chunks in it and mix it well. Cook for another 3 - 5 minutes.  
  7. Remove it from heat and keep aside.
  8. Take a ball from dough and flatten it with the help of a rolling pin. Place it on a hot tawa and cook on moderate heat for 2 - 3 minutes. Flip it gently. Cook for 2 - 3 minutes or until it turns golden brown in color from both sides.  
  9. Remove it from heat and place it on a board. Place the prepared soya stuffing in the center.
  10. Garnish with coriander.  
  11. Roll it tightly and cover it with aluminum foil[optional ]
  12. Serve.

  • Soya chunks [ 15g ]
  • Ginger garlic paste   2 tbsp
  • onion 20g 
  • tomato 20g
  • capsicum  20gm
  • carrot     10gm
  • oil 1 tsp
  • red chili powder ¼ tsp
  • cumin powder ¼ tsp
  • salt
  • multigrain flour 30g 
  • soya sauce  1 tsp
  • red chili sauce 1 tsp
  • tomato ketchup 1 tsp
  • tandoori masala  1 tsp
  • coriander for garnishing
