 Chickpea is also known as “kabuli chana”. They are rich source of vitamins, minerals and fiber. Chickpea may offer a variety of health benefits, such as improving digestion, aiding weight management and reducing the risk of several diseases. Chickpeas are high in protein and make an excellent replacement for meat in vegetarian and vegan diets.These roasted chickpeas are an addictive snack to munch on. This simple recipe is a great alternative to the deep fried version which is available in the market.


  • Boil soaked chickpeas, drain and keep it aside to cool.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add curry leaves, then add all spices except chat masala powder & roast them on low heat for 4-5 minutes.
  • Now add boiled chickpeas & mix well.
  • Simmer it for 5 minutes, now add chat masala powder and mix well.
  • Serve hot.


  • Chickpeas- 30 gms (soaked & boiled)
  • Paprika powder- ½  tsp
  • Cumin powder- ¼  tsp
  • Garlic powder- ¼ tsp
  • Garam masala powder- ¼ tsp
  • Chat masala powder- ¼ tsp
  • Curry leaves- 4-5 nos.
  • Oil- ½ tsp
  • Salt- as per taste
