Everyone is sure to relish this tempting soup is a great energizer. Sweet corn is a rich source of vitamins and minerals. It reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Helps maintain good vision and skin. Controls diabetes and hypertension and also boosts immune system. It also reduces the risk of colon cancer.


  • Heat the oil in anon-stick pan, add the clove, cinnamon, peppercorns, bay leaf, onions and garlic and cook till the onions are translucent.
  • Add the carrots, coriander seeds, cumin powder and turmeric powder and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Add the corn kernels, 3cups of water and salt and simmer over a medium flame for 10 to 15 minutes till the corn is cooked.
  • Cool completely and make a smooth puree in a blender. Transfer back into a pan.
  • Bring to a boil and serve hot with the lemon juice and coriander.



Sweet corn kernels – ½ cup

Onions – ¼ cup

Clove – 1

Cinnamon – 1 stick (25mm)

Peppercorns – 1

Bay leaf – 1

Garlic – 2 cloves

Carrots – ¼ cup, cubed

Coriander seeds – ¼ tsp crushed

Cumin powder – ¼ tsp

Turmeric – a pinch

Olive oil – 1tsp

Salt – to taste

To serve

Lemon juice

Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp chopped
