Keto egg drop soup is a comfort food. It’s nourishing and light soup. It is very easy, quick and low in carb. This keto egg drop soup makes a perfect lunch and dinner and can even be an appetizer for the day. This soup is very low in carb count to keep you in ketosis and helps to loose weight.


  • Make chicken stock by putting all the ingredients in a pressure cooker and cook for 15-20 minutes. After cooking strain out the stock, shred chicken pieces and keep the chicken aside.
  • Heat the stock on stove and add in the white part of the spring onion to it and cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
  • Then add shredded chicken, soya sauce and oil.
  • Beat eggwhites in a bowl and then pour it into the soup. Wait for 10 seconds before stirring the soup. This will allow the egg to set a bit before breaking up.
  • Cook further for 5 minutes and finish with the green part of the spring onion.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and sprinkle little of black pepper powder.
  • Serve hot.


For chicken stock:

  • Chicken- 50 gms
  • Bay leaves- 2
  • Whole black peppercorn- 7-8
  • Ginger- 5 gms
  • Basil leaves- 6-7
  • Water- 250 ml
  • Salt- as per taste

For soup:

  • Egg- 1
  • Spring onion- 1
  • Fresh coriander- 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Soya sauce- ½ tsp
  • Sesame oil- 2 tsp
