Dum Gobi is a typical north Indian delicacy where cauliflower is cooked in rich blend of spices. There are a lot of benefits of cauliflower. It fights inflammation and boosts ultraviolet radiation protection as it is filled with antioxidants. It also fights against cancer. Cauliflower is an excellent source of Vitamin K,which is a fat soluble vitamin and keep the bones healthy as it prevents losses in bone mineral density which can cause osteoporosis. Vitamin K is also a good blood coagulant. Cauliflower also has certain compounds which helps to detoxify the body. It is low in calorie and hence supports healthy weight loss


Method

  1. Cut the cauliflower into big pieces and soak in salted water for 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Grind masala I and II separately and  then mix them together and apply on cauliflower.
  3. In a pan, heat the oil and place the cauliflower and any extra masala pour on top of it
  4. Now add 1 cup of water, and cook it on a low flame with the cover, till the cauliflower is completely cooked oil should now separate from the masala .
  5. Serve hot.

Ingredients

Big cauliflower-2 cup

Oil-1 tbsp

Masala1.Grind coarsely :                 

Garlic cloves-10 -12

Onions big-7- 8

Masala2.Grind to smooth paste:     

Red chillies-10    

Poppy seeds-1 tbsp

Cashewnuts-5-6

Turmeric powder-½ tsp

Cumin seeds-1 ½ tsp

Scraped coconut-                ½ cup

Salt to taste                         

Cloves-4

Cinnamon-3

Dhania-1 ½ tbsp
