This recipe is the healthiest version of our famous traditional Dahi Vada. You can try this recipe as your evening snacks or can even replace with your meal without hesitation as this dahi vada are not deep fried. Make it and serve to your loved ones.


Method

  • In a bowl, take Semolina (Rava)
  • Take Curd in the equal quantity as Semolina
  • Add Curd to Semolina , Mix it well
  • Add Green Chilies and ginger grated
  • Mix it well and add salt as per taste
  • Add 1/4th cup water & leave it for 5 minutes
  • To make fluffy Dahi vada, add 1 tsp baking soda.
  • Add just a little bit of water into the mixture
  • You will see bubbles forming after adding water to baking soda.
  • Take Appam Patra, grease it with few drops of oil
  • Now pour dahi vada mixture into appam patra
  • Don't make it full, as it will rise due to fruit salt
  • Cook it on both the sides for 5 minutes
  • So our healthy vada are ready
  • Now take thin water mixed curd in a bowl
  • Add salt, mix it well
  • Mix curd and vada, let them soak for 5 minutes
  • Time to now plate our dahi wada
  • Serve dahi vada in a bowl
  • Topple with Meethi Chutney ( Sweet Tamarind Chutney)
  • Some Green Chili Chutney
  • Pomegranate on top
  • Sprinkle Red Chili Powder
  • Sprinkle Roasted Cumin Seeds Powder
  • And Coriander leaves to garnish with.

Ingredients

  • Semolina – 30g
  • Curd – 100g
  • Green chilies – 1-2 chopped
  • Ginger – ¼ tsp grated
  • Salt – to taste
  • Water – ¼ cup
  • Baking soda – ½ tsp
  • Oil – 1tsp
  • Pomegranate – 15g
  • Sweet tamarind chutney – 1tsp
  • Red chili powder – ½ tsp
  • Cumin powder – ½ tsp
  • Spicy coriander chutney – 1tsp
  • Coriander leaves – to garnish
