Couscous chicken salad is a low calorie salad and is ideal for weight loss. Couscous is rich in selenium and it helps boosts immunity. It is a good plant source of protein and promotes healthy blood sugar and aids weight loss. It also helps reduce the risk of cancer. This salad also contains chicken which is lean meat and rich source of protein and it helps aids weight loss as well.


  1. Boil ½ cup water and put it in couscous and cover the pan and cook until couscous is done. Remove from heat and let couscous mixture stand, covered for 5 min.
  2. Now put buttermilk. Cumin, salt and black pepper in a large bowl and whisk it.
  3. Add couscous , cooked boneless chicken to  it.
  4. Also add walnuts, coriander, garlic, dates and onion, stir mixture gently.


couscous- 30 gm

cooked Boneless chicken-20 gm

Low-fat buttermilk-10 ml

Water- ½ cup

Walnuts, crushed- 1 tsp

Onion-20 gm

Dates- 1

Garlic chopped- 1 tsp

Cumin- ½ tsp

Black pepper- ½ tsp

Coriander leaves for garnish

Salt to taste
