Churumuri is a puffed rice snack that is also a street food in karnataka. There are many ways churumuri is made across karnataka varying from region to region. Puffed rice is also called as mandakki in kannada language. We Indians across the globe love street foods. A plate full of tangy spicy chat with a cup of tea is the strongest mesmerizer for most of us. But the hygiene that is maintained is very poor in many places so it is always healthy to make these at home. This can be prepared very quickly by anyone.


  • Roast peanuts on medium heat till aromatic & golden.
  • If puffed rice is not crispy then dry roast them in a pan until crisp.
  • Take a big mixing bowl, then add all spices, lemon juice, cucumber, carrot, onion, tomatoes and green chilli. Mix well.
  • Now add puffed rice and peanuts, com bine well.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  • Serve immediately.


  • Puffed rice- 30 gms
  • Peanuts- 10 gms
  • Onion- 25 gms
  • Tomato- 25 gms
  • Cucumber- 25 gms
  • Carrot- 25 gms (grated)
  • Lemon juice-  1 tsp
  • Green chilli. - 1
  • Fresh coriander- 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Red chilli powder- ½ tsp
  • Chat masala powder- ½ tsp
  • Salt- as per taste
