I often tell my patients to eat 2 cloves of garlic finely chopped right in the morning with a glass of water. The most asked question after I recommend this is: “Why are you giving this?” The reason they ask me is because, to be honest, garlic isn’t the most pleasant vegetable to eat right in the morning. So I smile and I mention why garlic is my favourite food!
Below I have mentioned the benefits if garlic:

  • Garlic can fight infection from fungi and worms
  • Garlic reduces inflammation and boosts immune function
  • It improves heart health
  • It is extremely beneficial in digestion.
  • Aids in treating eye and ear infections.
  • It helps lower blood pressure levels.

  • Garlic helps in cancer prevention.
  • It also helps in regulating blood sugar levels
  • It is an excellent antioxidant.

The list is endless. Garlic is regarded as a mother of all cures. It is widely known for being good for the heart and cholesterol problems. It is also an effective antibiotic against food poisoning bacteria. What makes garlic a powerful healer is a compound known as allicin. This compound is known to boost the immune system. However, it gets easily destroyed by heat. That is why I recommend eating it raw right in the morning on empty stomach!
