12 Drinks that will help in boosting immunity
(1)Watermelon, mint and lime juice
Watermelon, mint and lime juice is an immune boosting drink because it contains a highly beneficial, naturally occurring chemical called lycopene. Lycopene gives watermelon and tomatoes their bright red colour but it is also a powerful antioxidant and supports the immune system and therefore helps prevent illness.
Ingredients:
- Watermelon- 5-6 cups(cut into cubes,remove seeds)
- Lemon juice- 2
- Mint- handful
Method:
- Place everything in a blender and blend till smooth.
- If desired strain juice.
- Pour into glass and serve
(2)Orange, kiwi and tomato juice
Orange, kiwi and tomato juice are also great for the immune system because of their rich vitamin C content. Vitamin C not only supports the joints and overall skin health, it also helps the immune system defend itself against infections and viruses.
Ingredients:
- Orange- 2 (peeled)
- Kiwi- 1 (peeled, cut into cubes)
- Tomato- 2 (cut into cubes)
- Basil leaves- 6nos
- Chia seeds- ½ tsp
Method:
- Place all ingredients in a juicer
- Serve immediately.
(3)Carrot juice
As well as consuming lots of fruits and herbs, another way to support the immune system is to provide it with vegetables. Carrot juice have a special supportive role when it comes to the health ofour immune function, aiding it in its fight against viruses and allergies.
Ingredients:
- Carrots-200 gms
- Ginger- ½ inch piece
- Orange- 1 (peeled and deseeded)
- Pear- 1 (cut into cubes and deseeded)
- Rock salt- a pinch
Method:
- Add all ingredients in a juicer.
- Put juice in a glass and sprinkle rock salt.
- Serve fresh.
(4) Apple and spinach smoothie
Apple and spinach are also loaded with antioxidants. Spinach is rich in vit C and extremely good for immunity.
Ingredients:
- Baby spinach- 2 handfuls
- Apple- 1 (cut into cubes)
- Cucumber- 1 small (cut into cubes)
- Water- as required/ unsweetened milk
- Chia seeds- 1 tsp
- Lemon juice- 1 tbsp
Method:
- Combine all the ingredients in a blender.
- Process until completely smooth.
- serve immediately.
(5)Kale, broccoli and spinach juice
It’s so good for our immune system. These vegetables are bursting with vitamins A, K, C (amongst other vitamins), calcium, copper, potassium and magnesium.
Ingredients:
- Kale and spinach mixture- 1 cup
- Green apple- 1
- Water- as required
- Broccoli florettes- ½ cup ( lightly steamed)
Method:
- Mix all ingredients in a blender, blend till smooth.
- Strain if required.
- Serve immediately.
(6)Apple carrot and orange juice
Carrots, apples and oranges are a winning combination for helping our body to protect itself and fight off infections.
Ingredients:
- Carrots- 2 (cut into cubes)
- Apple- 1 (cut into cubes)
- Orange- 1 (peeled)
Method:
- place all the ingredients in juicer.
- Blend it, serve chilled.
(7)Orange grape fruit juice
Vitamin C has antioxidant and other properties that protect our cells from substances that damage the body and helps to increase immunity.
Ingredients:
- Oranges- 2 (peeled)
- Grapefruit- 1(cut into cubes)
- Lemon- ½
- Mint leaves- few
Method:
- Peel citrus fruit and cut into quarters.
- Add all ingredients in a juicer.
- Serve chilled.
(8)Beet, carrot, ginger and turmeric juice
This fortifying juice of vegetables help to increase immune system and decrease inflammatory symptoms and it’s a great detox juice also.
Ingredients:
- Beetroot- 1 medium size(peeled and chopped)
- Carrots- 3 medium size(chopped)
- Orange- 1 medium(peeled, remove seeds)
- Lemon- ½ (seeds remove)
- Fresh turmeric- 5 gms
- Ginger- 5 gms
- Black pepper powder- ¼ tsp
Method:
- Pass all the ingredients through juicer.
- Stir black pepper powder and serve immediately.
(9)Strawberry and mango juice
The vitamin E from the mangos add extra antioxidant benefits to enhance ones immune system.
Ingredients:
- Mango- (peeled and chopped)
- Orange juice- ½ cup
- Pure honey- 1tsp
- Fresh strawberries- 10 (cut into half)
- lemon juice-1 tsp
- Flax seeds- ½ tsp
- Mint- few
Method:
- In a juicer add all ingredients and blend till smooth
- Serve immediately
(10)Watermelon juice
Not only watermelon helps to improve immune system, but it also can help relieve muscle soreness. Muscle soreness is a common symptom of the flu.
Ingredients:
- Watermelon- ½ medium size (peeled, deseeded and chopped)
- Mint leaves- 1 tbsp
- Black salt- as per taste
- Chat masala- ¼ tsp
- Chia seeds- ½ tsp
Method:
- In a blender add watermelon and mint leaves.
- Don’t add water, blend well.
- Pour juice in a glass and sprinkle black salt and chat masala from top.
- Garnish juice with mint leaves, serve immediately.
(11)Pineapple and kale green juice:
Pineapple contains an enzyme called bromelain, which works as a digestive aid, helping to break down protein from large food molecules into smaller peptides.
Ingredients:
- Kale leaves 5 large
- Basil leaves 5 large
- Handful of parsley
- Cubed pineapple 2 cups
- Cucumber 1 medium
- Ginger, peeled 2 inch
- Lemon, peeled 1
Method:
- Rinse all fruits and veggies.
- Cut up pineapple and set aside 2 cups.
- Cut up 1/3 cucumber.
- Slice off a 2-inch of ginger root and peel.
- Slice peeled lemon in half.
- Add all ingredients to the juicer.

A vegetable-based green juice is a powerhouse of nutrients for a strong immune system.
Ingredients:
- Celery- 2 medium stalks
- Kale leaves- 2
- Spinach- 1 cup
- Green apple- ½ medium size
- Cucumber- ½ medium size
- Lemon- ½ (remove seeds)
- Ginger- 1 inch piece
